Fort Amherst

Cape Spear Lighthouse
Located southeast of St. John’s, Cape Spear is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland. Built in 1836, this lighthouse sits on top of the cliff with dramatic views worth photographing. Fifteen minutes away from downtown, this tall white lighthouse is perched at the most easterly point. Anglican Cathedral of St John the Baptist
Dating back to the 19th century, this cathedral boasts Gothic Revival architecture. Built between 1842 and 1892, the current structure of the cathedral was rebuilt in 1905 after the Great Fire of 1892. It is one of North America’s finest examples of intricate architecture and was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
Quidi Vidi Harbour
